What's going on in the world of cinema...

OK I recently went to see a couple of movies , and was going to help you people along if you don't want to waste your money. Last week I went to see "Troy" starring Brad Pitt , Orlando Bloom, some other folks. This movie had the usual battle scenes , seems like huge battle scenes are the new "matrix". Remeber when Matrix came out and then everyone started doing the freeze frame , high action martial arts shit for a while? Well now the new thing seems to be huge battles like in Lord of the Rings, the attack of the clones Star Wars thing had this type of stuff too. More and more movies are featuring huge battle scenes nowdays. Anyway, this film featured a lot of wars and brutal stabbing etc. , but not too bloody or overdone. Just made you kind of feel like you were in the middle of the battle. Definite "theater" film. And when it's on video gotta get the widescreen to really appreciate the battles. There were also many different types of conflicts and character situations, like you could identify with at least one character and hate another. This film had sort of a message to me :Too much obsession with a woman , or too much obsession with religeon (in this case, "pleasing the gods etc." ) can destroy a lot of people. So I'd recommend this as a "theater" film, if you're gonna spend the money try this one out. Just make sure you have a little time because this is a long film. The next film I wat to talk about is "The Day After Tomorrow" with Randy Quaid, Jake Gillenthal (boring young guy, looks like 3 or 4 other young guys like the spiderman kid etc. ) and the guy who played Bilbo Baggins in "Lord of the Rings" . This movie has an agenda from the beginning. They should call this film "The Day After The Democratic National Convention". This is some Liberal garbage with shots thrown against Bush and Cheney , and ass kissing to Mexico. The story is basically you have this "scientist" who says global warming threatens the planet in like 100 years, and of course the USA is the "grand evil" (sound familiar, kind of the crap we hear from liberals ever day) They have this Dick Cheney looking guy who says we can't do all the things to protect the environment because it would cripple the world economy (which it would) and he is disrespected and made to look like an asshole. Of course Saudi Arabia (the land where terrorist are born) is represented in a fair light in this scene. Anyway , the shit hits the fan like a week later (which even if the US had followed the guidelines of the Kyoto enviromental conference, it wouldn't have helped)and there is nothing that can be done except watch New York and the whole northern United States get destroyed. The scentists son gets stranded in New York , and in a totally impossible situation his dad walks like 40 miles in the snow to try to find him. This of course is one of those totally impossible situations in movies that make me sick. Anyway there another shot at Bush when he "cuts a deal with Mexico to forgive their debts" so the people of the US can evacuate to Mexico. The best scene in the film is when thousands of Americans are running through the border after Mexico closes it. And the film treats this situation like "see how it feels to have your borders closed, what comes around goes around" attitude. Like we have been fucking Mexicans over trying to keep them out and we are learning our lesson. If you don't catch that , wait till the end when the Dick Cheney based character gives his "apology speech" to all the countries of the world we have "wronged". And I just love the part where the Bush based character is always asking the vice president what to do, like he's an idiot. This whole film is liberal Democratic garbage. The scenes of New York getting totalled are kind of cool, but after September 11th disaster movies just don't seem the same anymore. Wait for video , because the destruction scenes aren't great enough to have to see on the big screen. The rest of the movie is lame , and of course there's the "wise homless brother with the dog" . At least the "M" factor is not too high here, a matter of fact there is actually a black character (police officer) in the film who makes a "bad" decision. Not very common in hollywood today to have a Black male character be anything but smarter and wiser than anyone else (except of course the ultra intellegent gay and female characters who also play the roles of the "perfect, flawless human beings) . But don't despair , there.s plenty of showing white males as the flawed shitbags they are forced to potray nowdays just to get a movie role. Ever notice if there even is a so called "smart" or "good" white male character in a film, they are usually divorced or always have relationship troubles. Usally this is related to their work (scientist, cop, etc.) Basically movies teach if you're a white guy who works you can't hold down a marriage. Damn no wonder these women nowdays fall for thugs and "stay at home " drug dealers . I mean an intellegent white guy can't possibly hold a job and be a real man ...
